Amnesty International considers legalizing prostitution
500 Amnesty delegates from more than 80 countries will gather at an international conference next week in Dublin to vote on whether to advocate the elimination of all penalties for sex work, on the grounds that it is a matter of privacy between consenting adults. Simply put, the Human Right group will vote on a new policy that calls for the global decriminalization of sex trafficking.

An instruction by an Aldi store manager to a security guard to "keep an eye on the tinkers in Aisle Three" has cost the German retailer €7,500.
A judge yesterday approved the award to a 17-year-old traveller girl arising from the incident at the Aldi store in Ennis, Co Clare, on November 5 last.
Counsel for the girl, Patrick Quinn BL, told Ennis Circuit Court that she was in attendance at the Aldi store on Francis Street with her infant brother and another traveller adult who was with her own infant son.

Saverio Bellante (36) with an address at Beech Park Avenue, Castleknock, Dublin 15 was charged with murdering Thomas O'Gorman at an unknown time between January 11 2014 and January 12 2014 at the above address.

Two-Day-Old Baby Girl Found Crying Inside Stuffed Suitcase
A man and a woman from the Henan province of eastern China, identified as Ding and Zhao, were arrested after employees of a hotel found a newborn baby girl crying inside a suitcase on July 26th.
The employees suspected the pair when they saw the man loitering suspiciously in the hotel lobby while he stood next to a woman. He was trying to smuggle the two-day-old baby into the hotel so the woman who accompanied him could adopt the child. It has since been established that the man is the child’s father.

Afghanistan Taliban leader Mullah Omar is dead.
The Afghan government is investigating new reports that Taliban leader Mullah Omar has died, a spokesman said.
The Taliban has yet to comment on the claim, which was made by top sources within the Afghan administration and intelligence agency.
The sources said the reclusive militant leader had died two to three years ago.

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuade Olubose II, is dead. He was 85 years old.
The foremost Oba died in London at about 7:30pm last night.

Eircom and Vodafone convicted and fined for ripping off customers
Eircom and Vodafone have been convicted and fined for ripping off customers who continuously received overcharged bills.
Following an investigation by industry watchdog Comreg, the telecom giants, along with Three Ireland, pleaded guilty at Dublin District Court today to charges under Section 45 of the Communications Act.
Vodafone was fined €10,000 and Eircom received fines totalling €21,000 after they each pleaded guilty to seven charges.

Bobbi Kristina Brown has died
She never regained consciousness to explain what happened before she was found Jan. 31, face down and unresponsive in her bathtub.
"It is hard to say goodbye. On Sunday, July 26, Bobbi Kristina Brown made her transition peacefully," said a statement posted to Whitney Houston's Facebook page. "The family thanks everyone for their loving thoughts and prayers. As Bobbi Kristina would say: 'The wind is behind me and the sun is in my face.' "
"She is finally at peace in the arms of God," the Houston family told USA TODAY in a statement. "We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months."
