Eircom and Vodafone convicted and fined for ripping off customers



Eircom and Vodafone have been convicted and fined for ripping off customers who continuously received overcharged bills.
Following an investigation by industry watchdog Comreg, the telecom giants, along with Three Ireland, pleaded guilty at Dublin District Court today to charges under Section 45 of the Communications Act.
Vodafone was fined €10,000 and Eircom received fines totalling €21,000 after they each pleaded guilty to seven charges.

88-year-old woman stabs police officer who showed up to her home in address mix up



A police officer who responded to the wrong home, was stabbed and beaten by an elderly woman.

Officers were dispatched to 57 Wilson St. around 3:50 p.m., on a report of a disturbance in Pittsfield, Massachusetts.

Joe Jackson’s publicist confirmed to Us Weekly that Jackson’s heart stopped three times while he was traveling in Sao Paulo, Brazil. His temporary pacemaker was also replaced with a permanent one on Sunday.
“Yesterday in Sao Paulo Joe had a stroke and then his heart stopped,” the publicist says. “He was at an event and he was “feeling light-headed and dizzy,” so he went to the hospital to be checked out. “They found out there was something wrong with his eye. There was an artery that burst behind it.” Doctors kept him to run some tests, during which time his heart stopped.”

Rebekah Paulson, 35, is now living in a 20 x 8-foot shed on wheels in Laporte, Colorado, after leaving her rented apartment.
The shop worker began her purging process in January last year, and gave away ten items every Tuesday to Goodwill or to friends.

The young employee was unpacking the fruit when he discovered five bags, each weighing 1kg and containing a white powder that is believed to be cocaine.
Police were called to the superstore in Wokingham, Berks, following the startling find last Wednesday.
