Police parade men who killed ex-FUTA VC, say "We strangled him to death"


The driver and security guard of former Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology Akure, Ondo state who was found dead inside a store in his home in Ijapo estate in Akure yesterday June 28th have given a vivid description of how they killed him.

Bamidele, who was fired by the late don for attempting to steal his car some months back, said he connived with Daniel Ita the security guard to carry out the act. He said Daniel lured the old man out of the main house before he strangled him to death.

Eamonn Morgan, from Newry, Co Down, and his partner Charlotte Sant, from Manchester, were both enjoying a day out with friends when the tragedy occurred.

Argentinian kidnapped in Niger state says footballer Messi helped save his life


An Argentinian man named Santiago Lopez Menendez (pictured above), who worked as an agronomist for Nigeria Flour Mills and managed two farms, was kidnapped in Niger state on June 24th. Talking to the press after he was rescued, he said footballer Lionel Messi helped save his life.

President Buhari Orders Arrest Of Wife’s Younger Brother Over Alleged Extortion



President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered Nigeria’s security agents to arrest his brother-in-law for allegedly extorting money from an unnamed businessman, a close confidante of the Nigerian leader told SaharaReporters. He said the suspect, named Musa Yola, was the immediate younger brother of Mr. Buhari’s wife. 

Nigeria, India To Sign Prisoners Swap Pact


Arrangements are underway for Nigeria and India to sign Prisoners Transfer Agreement to allow prisoners of the two countries return to their home countries to serve their jail terms.

The Indian High Commissioner, Ajjampur Ghanashyam, who said this while featuring on the News Agency of Nigeria Forum on Sunday in Abuja, said no fewer than 1,100 Nigerians were serving various prison terms in India.

“When I came to Nigeria, there were about 1,800 Nigerians in our prisons and that was shocking for me and now I am told it is about 1,100.

South African girl burnt to death by boyfriend's ex-girlfriend & her friends


 Boitumelo Dlamini was taken by four girls into a car, driven to a bush where they poured petrol on her and burnt her to death. One of the girls is the ex-girlfriend of the boy she's dating. Her charred body was found in the bush in Klipgat, North West, on Thursday June 25th.

Boitumelo's boyfriend's ex-girlfriend and three of her friends have been arrested for the crime and are facing murder charges and kidnapping.

Michaelangelo Jackson, 6, and his younger sister, Makiah Jackson, 3, were struck and killed by a vehicle being chased through a residential neighborhood by Detroit police, USA Today reports.
Lorenzo Harris, 29, was allegedly on the run on Wednesday, June 24, due to a parole violation. As he was being chased through Detroit’s East Side, the Chevy Camaro he was driving was allegedly clipped by police, causing it to fly into the air.
A family friend who was on the scene described the horrific incident to the Voice of Detroit:
