The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Dr. Ado Abdullahi Bayero is dead. The first class ruler died early hours of this morning according to family sources.

Asher Maslin, left, 22, stabbed 20-year-old Hollie Gazzard, right, 14 times as she worked at Fringe Benefits and La Bella Beauty salon, inset, in front of horrified bystanders in Gloucester city centre. Maslin purchased a knife before heading to the salon after the pair had separated. He pleaded guilty to the killing during a hearing at Bristol Crown Court and he has been told to expect a life sentence later this month.
