Two women were tricked into working as prostitutes by a couple who used African black magic to frighten them into complying, a court heard today.
The young women were allegedly trafficked from Nigeria into Britain by Lizzy Idahosa, 23, and her husband Jackson Omoruyi, 41, who are accused of then terrifying them with 'juju magic' or African witchcraft.
Cardiff Crown Court heard that the alleged victims, aged 23 and 29, were forced to eat snails and snakes as part of a black magic ceremony before being sent to work in brothels and massage parlours.

A health visitor with a first class honours degree in nursing was found hanged after she became tormented by her severe skin condition.
Hollie McEwen, a dedicated professional, first suffered psoriasis as a 12-month-old but it eased with treatment.
However, it later reappeared due to stress and the 28-year-old became so depressed she took her own life at home.

A British man was freed by Ukrainian secret services after being kidnapped and tortured while seeking a potential 'bride' through a dating agency in Odessa, it was revealed today.
The man, aged 58, was abducted by a 'criminal gang', believed to be Muslim, after arranging to meet a young woman.
He has been named as Martin John, but he could be John Martin as Ukrainians often give the surname first.

Masked raiders use sledgehammers to carry out broad daylight raid on jewellers' shops



This is the dramatic moment a gang of masked raiders carried out a daring sledgehammer raid on a row of jewellery shops in the middle of the day.
Shocked shoppers ran for cover as four men carrying hammers and axes burst through the Argyll Arcade in Glasgow today as they carried out smash and grab raids on four stores. 
Witnesses said an elderly security guard was rushed to hospital after being hit by one of the gang. 
Four jewellery shops - Rox, Mappin and Webb, Laing the Jeweller, Lewis Grant - were targetted, with the gang only able to break into Rox, where police said they stole a 'small quantity' of jewellery, before running off.

Herve Gourdel, 55, was captured by the Islamist group Jund al-Khilifa while hiking in the Djurdjura National Park on Sunday - just one day after he arrived in Algeria for a walking holiday.

Armed robbery gang leader paraded in Lagos


A 55 year old man named Chief Jude Dike (pictured above) who police say is the sponsor and leader of a 7-man gang was today September 23rd paraded alongside six other members of his gang at the Lagos state police headquarters in Ikeja.

The others paraded were; Joel Eghon, 38, Solomon Igwe, 32, Ifeanyi Onwuegbuchi, 34, Emmanuel Ifeanyi, 34, Ejike Emegwo, 31, and Leonard Afoaku, 39. 

Nigerian man gets re-arrested for robbery after 4 months in prison


An ex-convict who was released from prison four moths ago after spending 7 years in kirikiri has been arrested again by men of the Lagos state Police command after he and his gang snatched a car in the Yaba area of Lagos.

According to Vanguard, Faruk Lawal and his gang snatched a car from its owner while the owner was having sex to a woman inside his car along Morrocco street in the Alade area of Yaba in Lagos.
