World's Oldest Woman Dies At Home Aged 116


The world's oldest woman has died at the age of 116 just a month after gaining the title. Jeralean Talley died at home in Michigan after recent treatment for fluid on the lungs in hospital according to her 77-year-old daughter, Thelma Holloway.

She was born May 23, 1899, in Montrose, Georgia, and moved near Detroit, Michigan in 1935. May her soul rest in peace.

Four Nigerians jailed in New Zealand for Drug trafficking


Four Nigerians- Nnamdi Augustine Iwu 36, Hyacinth Ochibulu 44, David Obiaga 44 and Ugochukwu Okpara 27, were yesterday June 18th sentenced by a High court in New Zealand to 15 to 18 years jail terms after being found guilty of importing and possessing methamphetamine, a banned substance, in New Zealand.

The Nigerians and a New Zealander who was sentenced to 9 years in prison are said to be part of an international drug smuggling ring syndicate.

Girl allegedly duped inside banking hall in Lagos


The girl pictured above and identified as Ruqayyat said she was duped of N14,000 inside a banking hall in Lagos on Wednesday June 17th. According to her story, she said she went into a banking hall along Opebi road, Lagos to pay N14, 000 when she was approached by a man dressed in a suit pretending to be working at the bank.

Bauchi govt seize 22 vehicles from wives of immediate past governor, Isa Yuguda


A total of 22 cars have allegedly been recovered from the wives of the immediate past governor of Bauchi state, Isa Yuguda, by the transition committee set up by the state's new governor, Mohammed Abubakar.

Chairman of the transition committee, Senator Mohammed Mohammed made this known while addressing newsmen at the State Government House in Bauchi yesterday June 18th.
