Six men claim top Irish athlete sexually abused them as children



An Irish international athlete is being investigated by gardai after six men claimed he sexually abused them as children.
The alleged attacks are said to have occurred while the man, who now lives in Spain, was training youngsters here in the 80s and early 90s.

Shot by a concerned mum, the sickening footage captures Stewart throwing the boy of two-and-a-half, who has Down’s Syndrome, from shoulder height on to the surface.
As he lands, his arms and legs spring out, his neck is jolted, and he bounces back almost a foot into the air... before trying to crawl away.

VP Osinbajo says there was no bomb threat to his home

Gunman kills 2 people and injures 7 in a Louisiana movie theatre




A 58 year old white gunman opened fire on movie goers last night in a Louisiana movie theater, killing 3 people, including himself and injuring as many as 7 people, some of whom are in critical condition, a police official said.
City Marshal Brian Pope said that the gunman opened fire at the Grand Theatre in Lafayette, Louisiana where people were watching the comedy, 'Trainwreck' before turning the gun on himself.

Burglar hides under bed for 3 Days


A man accused of sneaking into a New Jersey home proceeded to hide under the bed in a spare room for 3 days, police say.
Jason Hubbard allegedly entered the home on Ellenel Boulevard in Spotswood, where police said he also charged all 4 of his cellphones from an electrical outlet he found while under the bed.

Details from the May incident were released yesterday morning.

Maryam Abacha university degrees not recognised – NUC

                                                              


The National Universities Commission has warned that degrees obtained from Maryam Abacha American University of Niger Republic (MAAUN) are sub-standard and will not be accepted in Nigeria, saying henceforth such certificates would not be recognised as a means of seeking employment or doing other legitimate business in Nigeria.
The NUC Director of Information and Public Relations, Malam Ibrahim Yakasai, handed down the warning while briefing newsmen on Thursday in Abuja.

According to him, NUC has been inundated with inquiries from some Nigerian students who have been offered admission in MAAUN on part time with a graduation time of four semesters.

Former First Lady, Patience Jonathan reportedly barred from VIP lounge of PH Airport


Tribune is reporting that former First Lady Patience Jonathan was stopped from using the VIP lounge of the Port Harcourt International Airport, recently. Mrs Jonathan, who was in Port Harcourt for the burial of her late Chief Security Officer (CSO), Tamuno Jacob Igbomie, who was killed by unknown gunmen, was said to have been denied access to the VIP lounge, commonly used by dignitaries.
