Police Officer Raped a 22-Year-Old Woman While Responding to a Call at Her House



Officer Micah Meurer has been fired from the Amarillo Police Department in Amarillo, Texas after he was accused of raping a 22-year-old woman when he responded to a call at her house in northwest Amarillo on Sunday night.
The victim reported the incident to the police Monday morning. After the accusations, the officer was placed on paid administrative leave. Once the forensic examiners examined both him and the victim, they confirmed there was indeed sexual contact, They had collected clothing, multiple body fluids, blood, and a Walmart receipt which linked Meurer to the case. The department later fired him.
The police department released the following statement: “The criminal investigation into this incident is continuing. The detectives have collected physical evidence and interviewed both the victim as well as the officer. They will continue to work closely with the 47th District Attorney as they fully investigate the matter. Upon completion of the investigation, detectives will present the case to the prosecutor’s office for determination of any criminal charges.”
The Acting Chief of Police, Kenneth Funtek, terminated Meurer for ‘violations of internal rules, including acts which bring discredit to the officer and the department.’
