Body of newborn baby discovered in River Taff as police appeal for help to find mother
The body of a newborn baby has been discovered in the River Taff yesterday night, prompting police to issue a desperate plea for help to find its mother.
South Wales Police has launched an investigation after discovering the body near the junction of Penarth Road and the Taff Embankment shortly after 6pm this evening. Police cordons and forensic tents were erected at the scene (pictured) this evening while dive crews scoured the river and helicopters searched from above.
