Nestle to destroy $50 million worth of noodles after tests found them unsafe and hazardous

Nestle announced that it will destroy millions of dollars worth of noodles after food regulators in India, found them to be unsafe for consumption.
Nestle said it will destroy more than $50 million worth of its hugely popular Maggi noodles, following the ban imposed by health officials.

Regulators said that tests found the noodles unsafe and dangerous, and they accused Nestle of failing to comply with food safety laws.

The company insists that the noodles are safe and is appealing the ban. The company said that the noodles were removed from the shelves of stores and warehouses.

Tests found that some packages contained a high amount of lead. Nestle said that it asked officials for the test results, and they promised to return the noodles to the market in the future.
