British ex-soldier on death row in the Congo handed extra life sentence

The verdict of Joshua French accused of murdering his cell mate Tjostolv Moland

A British ex-soldier on death row in the Democratic Republic of the Congo has been handed an extra life sentence for the murder of his best friend and cell mate, despite expert reports ruling that his death was a suicide. Joshua French, who served in the Parachute Regiment, was charged with the murder of Tjostolv Moland, after Moland was found dead in the cell they shared in a Congolese prison in August last year.
