James Kiddie was filmed punching Sarah Reed in the head and dragging her across the floor and into the hallway of a shop in Regent Street, London, when questioning her over an alleged shoplifting incident.
The 45-year-old was convicted of assault in March following a trial at Westminster Magistrates' Court, but appealed the result claiming he had been threatened by Miss Reed and felt she was likely to assault him. Today a judge ruled his account of the incident was not accurate, and told he was 'dishonest and scheming'. The PC was ordered to complete 150 hours of community service in March and told to pay £500 in costs. The former Metropolitan Police officer will face a misconduct hearing in November.
