Tesco supermarket drags customer to court for spilling $2 bottle of milk
A shopper at Tesco, who spilled a bottle of milk, was dragged to court and ordered to pay the company, according to court documents in the United Kingdom.
The Llandrindod Wells Magistrate’s Court heard that 40-year-old Cornelius Price, threw the bottle after becoming angry.
He was also verbally abusive and escorted off the premises.
Price pleaded guilty to criminal damage, saying that he threw the milk towards the store manager before it accidentally spilled on the floor.
He was told to return the milk that he was holding and leave the store , but he didn’t listen and threw it. Price was ordered to pay Tesco 1.50 pounds ($2.25) in compensation, which is the price for the bottle of milk.
Price also received a fine of 75 pounds ($111), ordered to pay 20 pounds ($29) in victim surcharges and 85 pounds ($126) in court costs.
