Afienya police have arrested two persons for allegedly possessing human skull on the Akosombo-Tema Highway.

The two culprits, Simon Yovou, 34, fetish priest and Thomas Dodzie Nodzi, 38, unemployed, both residents of Afienya, were transporting the skull from Agortime Wudome in the Volta Region to Kumasi, when they were apprehended upon police intelligence.
The human part had been sent to the Forensic Laboratory for further confirmation.
Superintendent Kwesi Ofori, Dodowa District Police Commander who confirmed the arrest to DAILY GUIDE explained that a combined team of the Highway Patrol and Dodowa District Police arrested Simon with the skull, who was onboard a commercial bus travelling from Agortime Kpotoe in the Volta Region to Accra.
Upon reaching a section of the Akosombo-Tema Highway near Afienya, the bus was stopped by the police, and a snap check conducted on the passengers in the vehicle revealed the skull hidden in Simon’s bag.
The police later got viable information from Simon, which led to the arrest of Thomas.
The police interrogation revealed that the skull was to be delivered to a certain Dzabaku, a fetish priest at Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
Superintendent Ofori further added that efforts by the Agortime Police and the Dodowa District Police to locate where the suspects got the skull from proved futile, as they failed to divulge any information to the police.
The police is, therefore, appealing to the public to furnish the Service with information which could lead to the arrest of Dzabaku for prosecution.
