Supervalu manager to be sentenced for €100,000 theft from employer

A former Supervalu manager is due to be sentenced today for stealing €100,000 from her employer.

Celine Brennan of Coney Hall, Mornington, Co Meath admitted taking the money from the Donabate store.
After her arrest, Celine Brennan told gardaí that her son had got into "a bit of trouble" which only came to her attention after she spoke to a psychic.
On her way to work one day, she claimed she was approached by a man who demanded some money because of her son's trouble.
She has pleaded guilty to stealing from Supervalu Donabate on dates between November 1 and December 31, 2010.
Gardaí say she filled out bogus lodgement forms claiming that she had lodged some of the shop's takings in the bank, but had in fact stolen the money.
She gave back €23,000 before her arrest the following April and had a further €7,000 which she saved from social welfare payments.
The 43-year-old is due to be sentenced later today.
