The owner had only chained her Chihuahua-Maltese cross (similar to one picture, bottom right) overnight to stop it disturbing native animals near her home in Caniaba , New South Wales, Australia.
When the woman went outside to let the dog off its chain the following morning, she discovered the bloated snake curled up inside the kennel with the chain still protruding from its mouth (left). A team of volunteers arrived to remove the snake (top, right)
