Theresa Riggi, 50, (pictured left and right) was jailed for 16 years for killing her eight-year-old twins Austin and Luke and her five-year-old daughter Cecilia (pictured main) at their home in August 2010.
At the time, a court heard how the children were found dead in an Edinburgh apartment, each with eight stab wounds, following an explosion at the property. The tragedy came as she and husband Pasquale (inset) were involved in legal action over the children's custody. U.S.-born Riggi was initially charged with murder - but admitted three counts of the lesser charge of culpable homicide on the grounds of diminished responsibility. She was transferred to Rampton Secure Hospital in Nottinghamshire in 2011.
