East Wall residents warn Dublin locals of convicted rapist in area

Residents in Dublin's East Wall have reportedly put posters up warning locals that a convicted rapist collects his dole in the area.

It is claimed the 31-year-old lives nearby after serving 12 years of a 17-year sentence.
Statistics from the most recent report on recidivism from the Irish Prison Service show sex offenders have a reconviction rate of 31%.
Independent TD Denis Naughten wants the law changed so that residents are allowed to know if a dangerous criminal poses a threat.
