Manchester-born teenager Alexandria Hollinghurst, 17, (left) and her boyfriend Brandon Goode, 18, (inset, top) are suspected of shooting dead policeman Robert German (right) before killing themselves in a wealthy suburb of Orlando.
The policeman had stopped the young couple on foot and called for backup around 3.30am. Fellow officers arrived to discover a chilling scene - their friend and colleague shot dead and the two young suspects also dead from apparent suicide on the property of a multimillion dollar home nearby. Investigators are still trying to piece together the bizarre sequence of events. Alexandria's family said she had never been in trouble with the law and insist she was murdered.
