Sharmila Mistry, 42, (seen, left, arriving at court, and inset) was driving through a busy junction in Leicester when a Mini that had jumped a red light collided with her car (circled right), which smashed into toddlers waiting by a pedestrian crossing (circled left). The Mini was driven by Christopher Andrews, 61, who was confused by roadworks, and the prosecution said that Mistry, from Bushby, Leicestershire, failed to spot it or take evasive action until it was 'too late'. Oliwier Baczyk, 21 months, (top right), and Zofia Tabaka, two, (bottom right) were fatally injured and died later that day. Mistry, an accounts manager, denies two charges of causing death by careless driving.
