Scared thug Ger Dundon in hiding at traveller site

Ger Dundon

Crime boss Ger Dundon was picked up from jail by a Traveller relative and is believed to be hiding out in a Dublin halting site.

However, gardai are preparing for the 26-year-old “marked man” to make his return to Limerick.
Dundon was granted early release with remission on Saturday after he was imprisoned for five years for violent disorder as part of an extortion campaign against a nightclub promoter.
It is understood he was freed a day earlier than he was due to be released for security reasons.
A senior source said: “Dundon knew it wasn’t safe to immediately return to Limerick as he would be a marked man.
“He used his connections in West Dublin to arrange a safe house.”
The two men considered the most dangerous threat to Dundon are in custody awaiting trial for serious sex offences.
They are regarded as two of the most volatile and dangerous criminals in Limerick. The source added: “Outside of these two rapists there are few others who would be willing to carry out an assassination.”
The Irish Mirror has learned Dundon was picked up in a dark-coloured BMW X5 driven by a Tallaght-based Traveller.
They went to the West Dubliner’s home and the gang boss is believed to still be hiding out in the capital.
The driver has a close connection to a Tallaght gang which is linked to an ongoing high-profile trial.
Dundon’s father Kenneth, 57, moved back to Limerick following a spell abroad as his son was freed.
Dundon, who has 99 convictions, previously lived with his former partner April Collins and their three children.
But the couple split in dramatic circumstances with Collins agreeing to become a State witness.
Her evidence led to the jailing of a number of Limerick hoods, including John Dundon, 30, who was convicted of the murder of innocent Shane Geoghegan.
