Gardaí and PSNI hunt bank robbers after Monaghan raid




A cross-border hunt is under way after raiders robbed €100,000 from a bank in Co Monaghan.


Gardaí and and the PSNI are engaged in the search for the assailants after the raid at the Ulster Bank in Castleblayney at approximately 5pm yesterday evening.
The raiders, who were believed to be armed with handguns, drove a vehicle into the front window of the bank and snatched a box containing cash which was being loaded into the bank's ATM machine.
Gardaí from Carrickmacross and Castleblayney rushed to the scene as the gang fled.
No shots were fired and no one suffered injured.
