Drunk groom spends wedding night in jail for kicking his bride in the ribs

A drunk groom was arrested on his wedding night after assaulting his wife. 

31-year-old David Wachinski of Donora, Pennsylvania, allegedly kicked his newlywed wife Katie Thompson. 


Wachinski is accused of slapping the woman in the face and kicking her in the ribs, according to court documents.

During his drunken rage, Wachinski also pushed his male friend against a wall, leaving a hole in it and knocking over a flat-screen TV.

Police in Washington County, said they had to use a Taser to subdue Wachinski when they responded to the scene around 1:00 a.m.

Thompson told police that the couple had gotten married earlier that day, but began arguing shortly after arriving home.

When officers arrived at the house, Wachinski was being held down on the kitchen floor by a family friend, who had tried to break up the fight.

Wachinski was charged with simple assault, harassment, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.
