Multiple award winner and international act, Davido, who shot to lime light few years back with the monster hit 'Damiduro', may have bitten more than he can chew, as the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency-NDLEA is currently investigating him over the video of his new hit 'Fans mi'. The song features American rapper Meek Mills who is currently dating Nicki Minaj.
The NDLEA is said to currently be investigating Davido (real name David Adeleke) for showcasing hard drugs in the video. In the flick, Davido is seen discussing with an unidentified man as they haggle over a briefcase of dollars and a bag full of parcels of hard drugs. There are also lewd scenes in the video.
Ironically, the song which is supposed to promote the Omo Baba Olowo crooner’s gratitude and appreciation to his fans for their love and support towards his career over the years instead sees the singer singing about his enemies and money, showcasing hard drugs, nudity and guns in the video. As a result, many of his fans are not impressed by flick.
In an emailed comment on the video, NDLEA’s Head of Public Affairs, Mr. Mitchell Ofoyeju, said,
“The agency considers the musical video ‘Fans Mi’ inappropriate and indecent. It has the tendency to negatively influence and induce drug use and trafficking.
Besides, it is counter-productive on the campaign against drug production, trafficking and abuse. The agency is investigating the matter and will take necessary action.”
