A father was arrested, charged and convicted of murder after hanging his two young children as an act of revenge against their mother, prosecutors in Texas said.
32-year-old Gabriel Armandariz of Graham, was convicted of murder in connection with fatally strangling his 6-month-old son, Luke, and his 2-year-old son, Gatlin, at the family home.
He hid their bodies in a crawl space under the house.
Armandariz sent Lauren Smith, the mother of the two children, a text message, showing a photograph of Lucas hanging from the roof of a closet with a green belt wrapped around his neck.
Armandariz killed his children because he wanted to take revenge against their mother. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.
