Eleven 16-year-old students abduct and gang rape 19-year-old woman

Eleven children who were arrested for gang raping a teen they did now know, told police that they did it for fun, police in Nigeria said.

Akwa Ibom State Police said that they arrested 11 young students of the National High School in Eket, after being accused of raping 19-year-old Adiaeyo Effiong.

During questioning, the eleven students, all around 16 years old, confessed that they kidnapped the woman while she was shopping for her mother.

They dragged her to a room, where they took turns raping her. The suspects are said to be members of a gang. They told police that they had never met the victim before the incident.

When asked why they did it, they told officers that they raped the woman for fun.

In May, 6 men were arrested and charged with rape after they gang raped a teen girl for several hours in a basement, according to a statement released by police in Malaysia.

A high school student was allegedly raped by six men, including her boyfriend in Kampung Akil, Kota Baru.

According to the initial police investigation, it is believed that before the incident took place, the victim had left her home at 1:00 a.m. on Friday, to follow her boyfriend into the house of his friend's grandfather.

It is believed that the victim had been raped repeatedly by the suspects, police spokesperson Azham Othman said.

Police arrested the suspects, who are all aged between 17 and 18. All of the suspects were former students who were in the same class with the victim.
