A father was arrested on charges of assault after allegedly biting off his son’s ear for stopping a violent fight between him and his wife, police in Nigeria said.
Lagos State Police said that they have arrested 30-year-old Udeme Inim, after being accused of biting off the ear of his son.
The incident unfolded around 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, in the family home located in Asaka Street. According to the police investigation, Inim was beating his wife after an argument turned violent.
The man’s son, Christopher Bassey, intervened and tried to keep Inim away from his mother. Inim became very angry and began beating his son.
During the scuffle, Inim bit off the right ear of the teen. Bassey was rushed to a nearby hospital, but his ear could not be reattached.
Inim was arrested and charged with assault. He was booked into jail and his bail was set at N20,000 ($100).
