A 35-year-old woman is facing up to eight years in prison for allegedly endangering her sick nine-year-old son’s life by injecting his IV line with fecal matter at a Cincinnati children’s hospital.
Candida Fluty, of Kermit, West Virginia, was caught on camera as she took her son’s colostomy bag and removed feces with a syringe. She then injected the waste matter into her son’s intravenous drip, which caused the boy’s fever to spike.
Fluty’s son suffers from a rare congenital condition called Hirschprung’s disease — a blockage of the large intestine, caused by improper muscle movement in the bowel. The boy, who has not been named, has required numerous surgeries. (Scroll down for the video report.)
