Thug who stabbed teen to death out of jail and living close to victim's family

Victim

Stephen Boyle, 43, smashed a pint glass over 19-year-old Paul Boyle’s head and killed him on Arranmore Island, Co Donegal
Residents on an island are living in fear as a man who fatally stabbed a teenager in a bar has returned.
Stephen Boyle, 43, smashed a pint glass over 19-year-old Paul Boyle’s head and then stuck the broken shards into his neck on Arranmore Island, Co Donegal.
He was jailed for six years but was released last April and is now living just five minutes from his victim’s family.
One islander said: It’s a terrible situation. This was a horrific killing and it is still fresh in the memory of many people, including Paul’s family.
“Some people are of the opinion that Stephen Boyle has served his time and he should be allowed to return to his home-place.
“But others think that he is just rubbing salt into the wounds of Paul Boyle’s family who are still going through hell. After all this is an island and people run into each other all the time.
