Funeral Held For Ark. Teen Killed Over Prank

Adrian Broadway

Adrian Broadway, the 15-year-old Little Rock, Arkansas teen killed over a harmless prank, was laid to rest Saturday afternoon, reports ABC 7.

As previously reported by NewsOne, Broadway was one of seven teenagers who allegedly drove to the home of Willie Noble, 48, in the early morning hours of February 15 and covered his car with leaves, eggs and mayonnaise in retaliation for a prank played on them by Noble’s teenage son.
According to witnesses, Noble came outside and fired on the car full of teens as they drove away. One bullet struck Broadway in the head.
She was later pronounced dead at Little Rock’s Children Hospital.
Noble was charged with 1st-degree murder, committing a terrorist act, and five counts of aggravated assault.
According to ABC 7, McClellan High School held an assembly on Friday to remember Broadway and the impact she had on fellow students. An empty chair sat at the school’s basketball game Friday night where Broadway would have been on the Homecoming Court.
Kimberly Crutchfield, Broadway’s cheerleading coach at McClellan High, said that her squad has been very emotional but helping them all to stay strong.
“They’ve been extremely strong. They’ve been helping us to be strong because they remember her always laughing and playing. And they just told me today at the homecoming pep assembly, ‘Mrs. Crutchfield, Adrian wouldn’t want you crying, she would want you to have fun,’ ” said Crutchfield.

Broadway’s shooting death comes on the heels of the murder trial of Michael Dunn, who was found guilty on February 15 of three counts of attempted second-degree murder and one count of hurling a deadly missile after he shot into an SUV full of teenagers, killing 17-year-old Jordan Davis.
A jury deadlocked on whether or not Davis’ death was premeditated, so the first-degree murder charge ended in mistrial.
Florida state special prosecutor Angela Corey has stated that her office will seek to retry Dunn on the first-degree murder charge.culled
