Police launched a manhunt after a serial thief who broke open a prison safe and stole cash before escaping from the facility, according to police in Turkey.
Meneksedere police said that the inmate who was identified as K.T., was in prison after being convicted of theft.
While serving his prison sentence, the prisoner managed to break open a safe and steal 11,000 Turkish Lira ($3,132) and 250 U.S. dollars.
When officials at the prison noticed that the cash was missing, they notified the police. Police officers who arrived at the scene, determined that one of the prisoners was responsible for the theft.
Prison officials searched the inmates’ cells, and they realized that K.T. was missing. So far, K.T. remains at large.
