Married rugby league player with two children comes out as gay

Batley Bulldogs' Keegan Hirst comes out as gay and is first openly homosexual rugby player

Married rugby league player Keegan Hirst, captain of West Yorkshire side Batley Bulldogs, has come out as gay, making him the first openly homosexual Englishman in the sport.
He said the relief of finally coming out felt like 'letting out a long breath that I've held in for a long time'. He revealed that his wife had been blaming herself for their split and he felt he had no option but to tell her the real reason he could no longer be her husband.
