Diddy arrested for assault with a deadly weapon

Bad behaviour: Diddy, pictured with his son Justin in 2012, was arrested after allegedly being involved in an altercation at his son's university

Diddy has been arrested for allegedly attacking an American football coach with a kettlebell weight during an altercation, according to a report.
The incident allegedly took place at the athletic facility of UCLA where his son Justin Combs attends.
The 45-year-old rapper - real name Sean Combs - was taken into custody at the campus jail Monday afternoon, TMZ reports.

He was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and was later transferred by campus officers to LA County Jail according to the site, but sources associated to the rapper claim he was acting in self defense.
An insider connected to Diddy claims that he was not the aggressor and it all began during a workout the previous day where strength and conditioning coach Sal Alosi was 'riding Justin badly' and eventually told him not to come back until the end of summer.
Then the mogul went to the Westwood campus today to talk to Alosi because he felt like the coach had an 'issue' with Justin and that meeting obviously did not go very well.
TMZ's source said the coach would not see him and the staff told him to leave, but the father insisted on going to the Alosi's office who had threatened to call security if he failed to make his exit.

Bad Boy For Life: The rapper did not looked too pleased to be sitting in the back of the squad car

The insider went on to claim that Diddy threatened to call police when the coach snapped and went after Diddy, who was forced to grab a kettlebell and hold it up in a defensive position. The source adds that the rapper did not attack with the intention of injuring the coach.
Another source gives a much different story as they claimed when the Last Night hitmaker was told to 'hang on' as the coach was on the phone, he grabbed a kettlebell and swung it which narrowly missed the coach.
Their source claimed if the attack had connected it would have killed Alosi. The incident is also reportedly on video.
DailyMail.com has reached to representatives for Diddy who have so far been unavailable for comment.
A source for the gossip site revealed that the incident occurred after an assistant coach screamed at Justin on the field.
According to their insider, the coach 'was riding Justin, screaming intensely at him,' as the I'll Be Missing You hitmaker observed from the sideline.
Later on in the day, Diddy reportedly confronted the coach in his office and grabbed him resulting in the arrest for assault.
On Monday night, a document was released by the Los Angeles Courts Sheriffs Department's Inmate Information Center with the information of Diddy's arrest as it revealed his first court date is set for July 13.
According to the Twitter feed LA Times breaking news reporter Ryan Parker, the rapper was booked in LA County Jail on suspicion for felony assault with bail set at $160K according to records.
However it remains unclear what the actual bail price is as he later tweeted to his 13.6K followers: 'Called L.A. County Sheriff's Dept. and they say Diddy's bail is listed at $50K in their system. Unclear why Inmate Info Center says $160K.'
He posted $160K bail later that night according to ABC 7 News.
The charges against him include three counts of assault with a deadly weapon, one count of making terrorist threats and one count of battery.
This is not the first time Alosi has been at the centre of controversy as according to NFL.com, he was suspended without pay for the rest of the season, including playoffs, and fined $25K while employed by NFL team the New York Jets for an incident in December 2010.
Alosi had committed a highly illegal move as a coach by sticking out his left knee on the sideline to trip Miami Dolphins cornerback Nolan Carroll, who was recovering a punt.
It did not take long for fellow rapper 50 Cent to poke fun at Diddy's situation as he took to his Instagram to make fun of the Can't Nobody Hold Me Down hitmaker.
At one point 50 Cent who endorses Effen Vodka, which is in competition with Diddy's Ciroc vodka, picks on Diddy by saying: 'Yeah man they said Puffy went Ciroc coco on the coach with a kettlebell.'
Just a day earlier, it was a rather joyous time in the Combs family as Diddy took to Instagram to share a group photo from a friendly flag football game with a few other of 21-year-old Justin's teammates and their fathers.
The Bad Boy For Life rapper had his arms around Justin and his 17-year-old son Christian as he captioned the photo: 'Father son football game! WE WON! Happy Father's Day.'
ack in November 2011, Justin announced he was committing to play for the university based in Westwood, California.
The young man was at the centre of some controversy at the time as according to a June 2012 report from ESPN, some were questioning if he should pass on a $54,000 scholarship due to the wealth of his family.
Ultimately, Justin, who plays defensive back, took the scholarship. He only played four games for them in the 2014 season and is currently a redshirt junior.
