The 36-year-old MP for Streatham in south London - once described as 'Britain's Barack Obama' - said today he could not cope with the 'pressure that comes with being a leadership candidate'.
He had been the favourite to take over the party after Labour's disastrous election defeat. But he has quit the race after just 72 hours because of the 'added level' of attention in him and his family, including his girlfriend Alice Sullivan, pictured together on Sunday.
