Peter and Jean Tarsey (left), both 77, were found shot dead at their villa in Xalo, Spain, (left) when neighbours were unable to get in for a dinner party.
Police said the couple were found 'locked in each other's arms' on the sofa of their home, with gunshot wounds. It has since been revealed that Mr Tarsey was a former British Olympic athlete (right) who competed for his country at the 1956 Melbourne Olympics. Mrs Tarsey's social media accounts reveal she was trying to sell the property back in February, but it is not known whether any sale was in progress when she was killed.
