Woman sues herself for killing her husband in car crash

A Court in Utah, ruled that a woman can legally sue herself over the death of her husband.

The woman of Salt Lake City, is both the plaintiff and the defendant in a wrongful death lawsuit concerning her late husband.

Barbara Bagley drove a Range Rover in the Nevada desert when her car overturned. Her husband, Bradley Vom Baur flew out of the vehicle, suffered serious injuries and died about two weeks later in a hospital.

Barbara Bagley, 48, suffered a concussion, broken ribs, a broken wrist and two punctured lungs. One of her dogs ran away from the scene and was found in the desert 53 days after the crash.

Now, the court has ruled that Bagley, who represents her late husband’s estate, can sue herself in connection with the fatal accident for wrongful death.

In court documents, Bagley accuses herself of being negligent by not failing to maintain a proper lookout and to keep her vehicle under proper control.

She seeks an unspecified amount of money in damages, including medical and funeral expenses, loss of financial support, and loss of love and companionship.

Bagley hopes that by finding herself guilty of wrongful death, the insurance company will be forced to pay her husband’s medical bills and funeral costs.

The case was dismissed last year, but was recently reinstated by the Utah Appeals Court.
