Finding a boyfriend to take home for the holidays can be stressful, particularly around New Year in China when unmarried women face an inquisition about their single status from extended family.
So single women are turning to website Taobao to rent fake boyfriends to stave off pressure. The men offers their services from (left) 9,000 yuan (£1,034) to (right) 99 yuan (£10), with some offering companionship for just (middle) 10 yuan (£1). They even charge extra for romantic activities such as hand holding, going to the cinema together, cuddles, or joint Internet surfing.
