Woman killed over cell phone



SUMTER, S.C. (WISTV) —A 36-year-old woman was killed Saturday night over a cell phone that did not work, according to an Orangeburg County Sheriff's Department incident report.
According to the report, 36-year-old Tonya Marie Lemon of Santee was taken to an urgent care clinic by a witness who saw her get shot Saturday evening. Lemon later died.

The report states Lemon and 28-year-old Adrienne Sabrina Randolph got into an argument over a non-functioning cell phone on Restwood Ct around 6:20 p.m. Randolph was attempting to sell the phone to one of Lemon's friends when the altercation escalated, according to the report.
Witnesses said Randolph went to her vehicle, got a gun and shot Lemon in the chest.
Deputies later took Randolph into custody and charged her with murder.
Randolph is being held at the Orangeburg County Detention Center. She was expected to have a preliminary hearing Monday afternoon.
