When Pat Dyson, 73, (left) and her partner Martin Holtby, 78, (right)returned to their home in Nelson, Lancashire (inset left), after a five day break, they found Lukasz Chojnowski, 28, (centre) who had come to the UK to find work, but had lost his lodgings due to language problems, sleeping in their bed and called the police.
He later claimed he thought the couple's terraced house was 'derelict' and forced open a rear window. Nothing had been taken from the house, but he had prepared a dinner, tidied up, and taken a bath (inset right).
