A Ferguson police officer has been shot around the area of West Florissant and Stein, reports KMOV.
Captain Ron Johnson, on the ground talking to protesters, has confirmed the shooting.
The officer, who was shot in the arm, is reportedly in stable condition at the hospital.
K9 units and police helicopters are canvassing the area for the alleged shooter. There continues to be conflicting reporters on social media, with some witnesses claiming that the shooter has been killed and police are covering it up, while the official story is the suspect has not been found.
The situation in Ferguson is still volatile as residents protest the Aug. 9 shooting death of 18-year-old Mike Brown by Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson, who has yet to be arrested.
The revolutionaries on the ground tonight are shouting, “No justice, no peace! No racist police!”
