Andy Murray says 'Yes' to Scottish independence

scot

The tennis star, 27, today tweeted at 1.08am: 'Huge day for Scotland today! no campaign negativity last few days totally swayed my view on it. excited to see the outcome. lets do this!' With the bold statement to his 2.7million followers, Murray appears to have dropped his carefully guarded neutrality when he's been asked his views on the referendum in the past.
His support for the Yes vote at such a critical juncture will vindicate and delight SNP leader Alex Salmond who controversially waved a Saltire when the tennis star lifted the Wimbledon men's trophy in 2013. But with the vote on a knife-edge it may be seen by millions of his loyal English fans as a betrayal of Britain, the country he has represented in both the Olympics (above) and the Davis Cup.
