Pair arrested after taxi driver who tried to help woman ambushed



A man and a woman have been charged in connection with the stabbing of a taxi man in Dublin.

The 32-year-old cab driver was attacked in the early hours of yesterday morning in Ranelagh when he tried to help a young woman who he believed had been beaten up.
When he went to her aid, he was set upon by two people and stabbed.
The victim was taken to St James' Hospital, where his condition is described as serious.
GardaĆ­ arrested a man and a woman.
The victim was taken to St Vincent's Hospital for treatment, but he has since been discharged.
GardaĆ­ arrested a 27-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman.
They have been charged and will appear before Dublin District Court tomorrow morning.
