National Emergency officials have the explosion hit Zuba park beside furniture market, Nyanya, Abuja.
Four dead persons have already been counted, witnesses said. Emergency services and police on ground are currently evacuating survivors to local hospitals.
UPDATE 2: Security operatives have taken over the area.

Some residents of Nyanya have reported hearing a very loud sound in the area a few minutes ago.
The blast was 10 meters away from Nyanya bus park that was hit about 2 weeks ago.
National Emergency officials have confirmed the explosion in Nyanya general area of Abuja on May 1, Thursday evening.
It is not clear if it was a bomb blast but the sound was heavy, residents say.
The explosion was heard around Mopol Junction Bus Stop, Nyanya, Abuja, according to reports.
This is coming just about 17 days after Boko Haram killed over 100 people in Nyanya.
