Actor Bob Hoskins dies aged 71 following pneumonia
Actor Bob Hoskins has died following pneumonia at the age of 71, his agent revealed today.
In August 2012, it was announced that Hoskins (pictured recently and inset with Cathy Tyson in the film Mona Lisa) was retiring from showbusiness after being diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. It marked the end of a film career which spanned four decades and included Hollywood hits such as Hook and Who Framed Roger Rabbit as well as British classics like Long Good Friday and Mona Lisa. His most recent appearance was in Snow White and the Huntsman, released in 2012 and starring Kristen Stewart. Hoskins revealed his battle with the brain disorder several months after his diagnosis.
