Police in Florida had declared Alex Hollinghurst, 17, and Brandon Goode (top right), 18, as 'missing endangered' after suicide notes were discovered by their families.
But the warning came too late to save police patrolman Robert German (bottom right), who was shot in the head after confronting the pair in the wealthy Orlando suburb of Windermere in the early hours of Saturday.
