Simon Cowell was ecstatic last night after girlfriend Lauren Silverman gave birth to a baby boy at 10.42pm UK time.
The tot weighed in at 6lb 7oz.
Cowell was by Lauren’s side at hospital in New York after a Trans-Atlantic dash to get there in time.
The X Factor judge raced 3,500 miles from London to the Big Apple after Lauren phoned him in the middle of the night to say: “The baby’s on the way”.
It is not known what the baby has been called but friends have previously suggested names including Simon Junior, or Eric after his late father.
A source said: "You couldn't take the smile of Simon's face.
"Ever since he walked in the hospital he was beaming from ear-to-ear.
"Lauren was so happy to see him when he walked in. It is the perfect Valentine's gift any (not and) couple could have."
