Man stabbed to death and another man hospitalised as violence erupts in abandoned Dublin pub

A man has been stabbed to death and a second man is in hospital after violence erupted last night.

Gardai are investigating after the body of a man, 44, was found in a run-down building on North Wall Quay in Dublin last night at around 10.45pm.
Another man in his 20s, also believed to have been stabbed, was brought to the Mater Hospital for his injuries, which were not life threatening.
Gardai arrested a man in his late 30s after 11pm on Wednesday evening in the region of the nearby O2 Arena in Dublin, after they were tipped off that a man covered in blood was roaming the area.
He has been detained at Store St Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 and can be held for up to 24 hours.
The body of the victim, who is understood to be Polish, remains at the scene, the derelict Vallence & McGrath pub in the capital.
The scene has been sealed off for a garda examination.
The Office of the State Pathologist has been notified.
