Cyclist dies after being hit by car


A cyclist has died after he was hit by a car earlier this evening.

Gardai at Rathcoole are investigating the incident on the City West Road at Brownsbarn Roundabout in Saggart, Dublin.
At around 5.20pm, the male pedal cyclist, in his late 30s, was knocked to the ground.
He was removed to Tallaght Hospital where he later died.
The road remains closed while a forensic collision examination is taking place.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses to the collision or who may have been in the area of City West Road between 5.20pm and 5.30pm this evening or who may have any information to contact them in Clondalkin Garda Station on 01 - 6667600, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
