The father of a boy abducted and taken to Africa has told of the dramatic rescue operation to get him home.
Richard Quarry's son Ethan, aged seven, was snatched by Elizabeth Daka, Mr Quarry's estranged wife and taken to Zambia.
Since then, Mr Quarry, who had full custody of Ethan at the time, has been desperately trying to get his son back to Ireland.
Because Zambia has not signed up to the Hague Convention on Internationl Child Abduction, the father of one was unable to pursue his wife through the courts.
A European arrest warrant was also issued for her arrest for child abduction, but Mr Quarry knew it was unlikely Ms Daka would travel back to Ireland.
And as a result, the determined dad said he had 'no choice' but to take matters into his own hands and drive 2,500 km across Africa to get Ethan home.
