A woman lost her life in a road accident less than a kilometre from the spot where her son died in a car crash earlier this year

Eunice Fox (47), from Rahan in Ferbane, Co Offaly, was the sole occupant of a van she was driving on the R436 road out of Ferbane when the vehicle left the road yesterday.
She suffered fatal injuries in the single-car crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her body was taken to the Midland Regional Hospital in Tullamore.
The incident occurred some 500m from the scene of a fatal road crash where her son, Raymond Mulhall (20), and his friend, Alan Kelly (19), were tragically killed in February.
They died when the car they were travelling in struck a concrete pillar on the same stretch of road. Yesterday, Ms Fox -- a local dog warden -- would have passed the cross and flowers which marked the spot where the two men lost their lives.
Ms Fox had been living with her partner Raymond Mulhall Snr and the couple also had a son together. Mr Mulhall has a number of other children from a previous relationship.
Yesterday's incident occurred around 4pm and the road remained closed for much of the day as garda investigators examined the scene.
The fatality follows one of the most deadly Christmases on Irish roads, with seven people losing their lives in road traffic accidents in the week before yesterday's incident.
Two young people died on Christmas Day following separate incidents. Leroy Coyle (19) was killed when his scrambler bike crashed into a parked car on the Ballybough Road in Dublin's north inner city.
COLLISION
A five-year-old girl also died on Christmas Day after she was injured last week in a three-car collision, following strong winds on the M6 at Newford near Athenry, Co Galway.
On Christmas Eve, one man died and another was injured when their car went off the M8 and struck a ditch near Cahir, Co Tipperary.
2013 has been one of the worst years on Irish roads in recent years with just under 200 fatal accidents recorded.
